Job summary

Colbern Limited is seeking an experienced Employment Coordinator in Rhyl to engage employers, coordinate work experience, placements, apprenticeships and work trials for Working Denbighshire participants. You will build relationships with public and private sector partners to deliver opportunities and meet delivery targets.

The role requires proactive engagement, commercial awareness and the ability to motivate others, with a flexible approach and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to establish positive working relationships with partners, organisations, businesses and employers in both public and private sectors.
• Must demonstrate good commercial awareness and understand importance of behaviours and attitude in the workplace.
• Must be proactive and innovative and able to influence employers to offer work opportunities.
• Demonstrate empathy and understanding of barriers faced by unemployed citizens, and empower them to maximise potential.
• Experience of generating new business leads and managing employer relationships.
• Knowledge of Denbighshire area and local employment resources is desirable.
• Experience of working with statutory, voluntary and private agencies and data protection policies.
• Understanding of performance management and monitoring processes.
• Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative with flexible workload prioritisation.
• Adherence to Working Denbighshire lone worker policy and good communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills and develop others.

Our client is looking for an experienced Employment Coordinator

The main aim of this role is to closely work with new and existing businesses/employers to target, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of opportunities including; work experience, work placements, recruitment workshops, apprenticeships, work trials, and employment opportunities for Working Denbighshire participants.

As part of the overall Working Denbighshire Strategy, you will be required to ensure the achievement of employment opportunities in sufficient numbers to meet our ambitious delivery targets.

Working within the Working Denbighshire Employer and Training team the Employment Coordinator will develop effective interagency, multidisciplinary and whole sector relationships to promote and represent the work of the Service internally and with all external partner agencies in order to identify employer/businesses needs and be responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing a range of employer engagement initiatives in order to help meet these objectives.

• Knowledge of the area covered by the Project (Denbighshire) is desirable, including the resources available in relation to employment.
• Experience of joint working with statutory, voluntary and private agencies and an understanding of working within confidentiality and data protection policies and regulation.
• An understanding of performance management and monitoring processes.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and work on own initiative providing support to a range of services with a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise workload.
• The post holder must work to the Working Denbighshire lone worker policy and be aware of challenges lone working can present.
• They must be an excellent communicator and demonstrate good verbal and non-verbal communication skills along with good presentation skills and demonstrate diplomacy and excellent negotiation skills.
• Must be able to meet challenges with a positive attitude and be keen to learn and develop new skills and have the ability to motivate and develop others, doing with rather than for.
• They must demonstrate a thorough understanding of diversity and equality in the workplace.
