Job Description:

The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights, and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners, working collaboratively within our Advisory business to enhance value across the deal and economic cycle. Our teams include specialists who assist clients from conceptual thinking of acquisitions to business turnarounds.

The M&A Centre of Excellence focuses on all aspects of the employee journey in M&A, including transformational change outside of deal contexts. We handle early strategy development, organisational design for carve-outs, synergy and cost-benefit analysis, employee experience, corporate culture, employee transfer, and the development of transformational solutions to help organizations achieve their goals. We aim to develop solutions addressing client issues, understanding financial risks and benefits from a people perspective, and ensuring smooth transitions.

The Manager role is central to project leadership and delivery, working alongside senior team members to build expertise in deals, people, OD, strategy, and HR. The role also involves leveraging change and consulting skills to deliver transformational change outside of deals.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Leading small-to-medium engagements and supporting clients daily.
  2. Contributing to and reviewing due diligence reports from a people perspective, analyzing data related to costs, legal issues (such as TUPE or unions), systems, and HR contracts, and providing insights relevant to clients.
  3. Advising on people, strategy, and organizational design aspects of integration, separation, and synergy initiatives, including developing target operating models and transitional plans.
  4. Supporting transformational change projects, creating roadmaps, designing change management and communication plans, and identifying risks and success metrics.
  5. Interacting with stakeholders, coaching junior members, and supporting business development activities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience or understanding of HR, OD, or Strategy within an M&A environment.
  • Experience working on M&A projects, including consultation processes.
  • Expertise in areas such as People strategy, TUPE, HR functions, union engagement, organizational design, employee engagement, talent analysis, recruitment, and retention.
  • Strong facilitation and leadership skills in client meetings and workshops.
  • Ability to manage teams and complex projects, develop business pitches, and influence senior stakeholders.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, with professional qualifications considered an advantage. Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical, and report-writing skills are essential. Candidates should be comfortable working under pressure, in ambiguous situations, and possess a good understanding of market drivers affecting client strategies.
