Job description

Police Scotland's purpose is to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities.

Over the last few months, we’ve taken the opportunity to review our HR operating model & underpinning structure and roles. As a result, we’ve got some exciting new opportunities to join our great HR team.

As part of the team working in the Human Resources Division, you can make a real difference by supporting the provision of Human Resources to our officers and staff across the second largest police force in the UK.

Key responsibilities of the role include –

  • Providing high quality and consistent people advice, coaching and guidance to customers/stakeholders in line with Police Scotland’s values, organisational policies and legal requirements.
  • Raise awareness, increase compliance and share good practice and expertise, working in partnership ensure a comprehensive understanding of their business and service HR challenges whilst seeking and delivering, robust, pragmatic and innovative people centred solution.

Preference for this role will be given to candidates who demonstrate -

  • Workforce planning experience (short term planning of 12-18 months and/or long-term planning of 3-5 years)
  • Assessing skills i.e. conducting a skills audit
  • Working with complex data sets and Data insights analysis
  • Collaboration and engagement with stakeholders
  • Experience of Microsoft Office packages i.e. MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint
