About The Role

Job Title: HR Advisor - Schools

Hours: 22.5 per week

Location: Auxilium House, School sites - mainly required to be on-site in Herefordshire

Salary: £19,042 - £19,869 actual salary (FTE £31,314 - £32,675) based on a 22.5hr week, full-year working pattern (dependent upon experience)

Contract: Permanent

Closing date: 15th June 2025

Interview date: 20th June 2025

Applications will be considered for full-year working or term time plus 4 weeks (42 weeks). Working days can be flexible, to be discussed at interview.

Hoople has an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor (Schools) to provide comprehensive, professional, high-quality advice and support on all HR disciplines to schools and academies. This includes supporting clients with complex employee relations casework via email, telephone, Teams, and onsite, acting as an investigating officer, report writing, and attending formal meetings. The role involves developing school-based HR policies and procedures, working closely with Trade Union representatives, and designing/delivering training sessions on HR topics.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex HR casework, including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, TUPE, redundancy, appraisal, and capability. Experience within the schools sector and knowledge of school-specific legislation (e.g., Burgundy Book, School Teachers Pay & Conditions, School Staffing Regulations) is beneficial but not essential.

We seek an experienced HR professional, preferably fully CIPD qualified or with equivalent experience, with strong employment law knowledge, excellent time management and interpersonal skills, capable of working autonomously, and able to make professional decisions in challenging environments.

The role requires travel throughout Herefordshire to attend school meetings, sometimes at short notice. Own transport for business use is required.
