Overview

Here at GXO, we're looking for a proactive and confident HR Advisor to join our dynamic HR team in Alfreton, supporting our NHS contract. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll be the go-to expert for all things Employee Relations (ER), helping managers navigate complex cases and drive positive outcomes. This role is being offered on a part-time, permanent basis. You will be working 22.5 hours per week, with hours and days that suit you. However, flexibility will be required, this is logistics after all!

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and flexible working requests
  • Coach and train line managers to build confidence and capability in ER case handling
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations Partner to identify trends and implement proactive solutions
  • Support absence management through data analysis, Occupational Health liaison, and strategic initiatives
  • Administer recruitment processes, contract changes, and onboarding activities
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and contribute to improving survey scores and workplace culture
  • Strong experience in managing high-volume ER cases
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with Trade Unions
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF, SUMIF, COUNT)
  • A flexible, organised, and customer-focused approach
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Employee Relations with the ability to handle complex cases
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with Trade Unions is desirable
  • Proficiency with data analysis and applying data-driven solutions
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary up to £19,200 per annum, pro rata based on hours
