A leading agricultural cooperative in Belfast is seeking an HR Advisor for a maternity cover (9-12 months). In this role, you will provide expert advice on HR matters, manage employee relations issues, and support the employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding. Ideal candidates will have a CIPD qualification, strong HR knowledge, and at least three years of experience. The position offers a competitive salary along with 25 days of annual leave and contributory pension.

HR Advisor – Maternity Cover (9-12 Months)

As an HR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our employees and managers across the Group. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on a range of HR matters, including employee relations, engagement, performance management, recruitment, and company policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant welcoming team and for professional growth and development within the field of human resources.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and facilitating resolution in accordance with company policies and legislation.
  • Support the lifecycle of employees from recruitment and onboarding through performance and development, compensation to offboarding.
  • Maintain HR records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement HR programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Assist in the development of company policies and procedures.
  • Deliver appropriate HR training as required.
  • Ensure confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Strong understanding of HR best practice and employment law.
  • Proven experience handling employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement in complex situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Degree level education; CIPD qualification; minimum of three years experience in a Human Resources department.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably food/manufacturing) with exposure to unions.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and access to own transport.
