Over the last few months, we’ve taken the opportunity to review our HR operating model & underpinning structure and roles. As a result, we’ve got some exciting new opportunities to join our great HR team.

As part of the team working in the Human Resources Division, you can make a real difference by supporting the provision of Human Resources to our officers and staff across the second largest police force in the UK.

This role sits within our Employee Relations and Reward team, giving you the opportunity to work at the heart of some of our most important people priorities.

You will support us in delivering our people strategy and be involved in a wide variety including complex employee relations matters, trade union and statutory staff association relationships, mediation, redeployment and collective agreements as well as helping shape our pay and reward practices.

We believe our people are our most important asset and investing in them is fundamental to the success of introducing new and emerging solutions and support to our front-line.

Preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to brief and engage senior managers on sensitive workforce issues
  • Knowledge of pay and reward frameworks in a large, complex organisation and the ability to support their development and implementation
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders, balancing organisation priorities with effective partnership working
