An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join a dynamic HR team, providing expert guidance and support across the full employee lifecycle. This role offers the chance to make a real impact, working closely with managers and employees to foster positive workplace relationships and ensure a high-quality service.

The Role
The Employee Relations Specialist will take ownership of a varied caseload, covering matters such as disciplinaries, capability issues, grievances, sickness absence, flexible working requests, and investigations. They will also contribute to organisational change projects, including mergers and acquisitions.

A key part of the role will involve coaching and developing managers to confidently manage ER matters, helping to build a culture of fairness, transparency, and collaboration.

The successful candidate will work closely with HR Business Partners, Centres of Excellence, and legal teams to ensure compliance with UK employment law and ACAS guidelines, while influencing strategic decisions through insightful reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse ER caseload independently, ensuring cases are handled promptly and professionally.
  • Coach and train managers to resolve employee relations issues effectively and in line with best practice.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide expert advice on ER and employment law.
  • Maintain and update HR/ER policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Design and deliver ER-related training sessions.
  • Produce case tracking and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.

About You

  • Proven ER experience in large, complex, matrix organisations.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple complex cases with empathy and professionalism.
  • Skilled in mediation and conflict resolution.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and ACAS guidelines.
  • Confident communicator, capable of influencing at all levels, including executives.
