Job description

HR Advisor-Direct Sourcing

Police Scotland's purpose is to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities.

Over the last few months, we’ve taken the opportunity to review our HR operating model & underpinning structure and roles. As a result, we’ve got some exciting new opportunities to join our great HR team.

As part of the team working in the Human Resources Division, you can make a real difference by supporting the provision of Human Resources to our officers and staff across the second largest police force in the UK.

We believe our people are our most important asset and investing in them is fundamental to the success of introducing new and emerging solutions and support to our front-line.

Key responsibilities of the role include –

  • Managing the recruitment sourcing efforts to develop a pipeline of talent for difficult to fill staff recruitment positions internal and external across our organisation
  • Partner with the hiring managers and Talent Acquisition Specialist to proactively identify candidates through direct sourcing methods.
  • Ensure positive candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment process.
  • Promote our roles and recruitment events and ensure effective administrative support, aiding successful delivery of the staff recruitment service across the force.

Preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who demonstrate –

  • Senior stakeholder management up to HoD level
  • Leading on recruitment campaigns
  • Provision of detailed reports from our e-recruitment system to assist hiring managers
  • Work with stakeholders at a strategic level for upcoming recruitment campaigns
  • Head hunt and source new candidates from LinkedIn, job sites, social media and other platforms building specialist market knowledge
  • Build and maintain talent pools / database for specialist areas e.g. IT, HR, Change etc. developing relationships with potential candidates in these areas
  • Ensure the available external job boards and social media platforms are kept updated and maximise usage and exposure to all available markets
  • Manage sourced candidates’ aspirations throughout the recruitment process
  • Provide general support to the wider recruitment function, support the hiring process, make sure candidates and stakeholders always receive a professional and comprehensive recruitment service
  • Develop and deliver recruitment workshops
  • Identify and support recruitment project work such as graduate programme, apprenticeships and partnership ventures to further modernise our recruitment capabilities
  • Responsible for agency recruitment hire process and ensure stakeholders adhere to agreed compliant hiring practices
