Job description
Overview

If you're looking for a varied and interesting role in HR, our HR Advisor role is for you. Secondments will be considered. With the ability to support services across the Council, the role concentrates on employee relations casework and focuses on providing the best outcomes for service delivery, alongside delivering the Council's People Strategy. This post is covering an internal secondment, but the HR team are reviewing their ways of working to meet the needs of the organisation and there may be an opportunity for this contract to be extended. We have moved into flexible working and the role can be undertaken remotely with the expectation of visiting our main office in Llandrindod Wells to collaborate as a team and attend service meetings in person as required across the County. This position has a requirement for a Standard DBS Check.

Responsibilities
  • Act as first point of contact for service queries and operational managers.
  • Coach and provide advice to managers, including delivering training.
  • Lead on employee relations casework.
  • Lead on absence management across the Council.
  • Build key relationships with service managers; advise on casework as needed.
  • Deliver human resource management training and development activities to enable managers to understand and implement policies and procedures, enhancing their skills in handling employee relations and casework issues.
  • Assist and support organisational management of change processes and advise on less complex change projects when required.
  • Provide support in relation to recruitment, selection and contractual changes as needed.
  • Develop training programmes, guidance documents and templates for service areas/schools and update policies and procedures as necessary.

Additional information

Location: Llandrindod Wells; Salary Grade 8, Point 19 to 22 (£32,061 to £33,699 per annum pro rata; £16.61 to £17.46 per hour). Package: 29.6 hours, Fixed term until 31/03/2026. Contractual hours: 29.6. Basis: Part time. Job category/type: People Services. This position has a requirement for a Standard DBS Check.
