About

EC Drummond Group, a family-run and growing agri-business near Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, is seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Advisor to join our HR team.

This pivotal role supports managers and employees across Poultry, Arable, Soft Fruit, and Top Fruit sectors, handling a wide range of HR functions. It offers visibility, autonomy, and variety in a busy environment.

The HR Advisor will work alongside the HR Manager, serving as a key contact for employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, practical, and professional approach to HR challenges, with a flexible working style to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

This role provides opportunities for learning, responsibility, and development as the business continues to grow. In the HR Manager's absence, you will be the most senior HR person on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance on policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance issues.
  • Support recruitment processes from drafting job descriptions to onboarding.
  • Conduct exit interviews and offboarding processes.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law and internal policies.
  • Assist in HR initiatives, systems, and accurate record-keeping in HRIS systems compliant with GDPR.
  • Support learning and development activities and contribute to HR projects such as engagement, diversity, and wellbeing programs.
  • Provide cover for Payroll Administrator using SAGE Payroll during absences.
  • Participate in compliance audits and support seasonal peak demands.
  • Identify opportunities for HR improvements and support the Seasonal Workers Accommodation Manager.
  • Enhance HR communication using various media and assist with the company's social media operations.
Essential Person Specification
  • Proven HR advisory experience within the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload.
  • Understanding of HRIS systems.
  • Confidence in advising and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or higher.
  • Competence with SAGE Payroll.
Desirable Skills
  • Coaching or mediation experience.
  • Understanding of social media in a business context.
Terms & Conditions

37.5 hours/week with flexible start/end times, primarily Monday to Friday, office-based with occasional travel across UK sites including overnight stays. Holidays: 23 days + 8 bank holidays (pro-rata). Salary is competitive, with ongoing CPD, private medical insurance, and a NEST pension scheme. A valid driving license and vehicle are essential due to location.
