Alexander Mae HR Ltd is partnering with a manufacturing employer in Weston-super-Mare to recruit an experienced HR Advisor. This standalone role offers ownership of a broad HR remit, supported by a HR Business Partner in Gloucestershire and a wider HR team in Ireland.

You will advise managers on employee relations, lead recruitment, manage onboarding and offboarding, and drive engagement while ensuring compliance with UK employment law and internal policies.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience at HR Advisor level with broad generalist remit.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR advice to managers and employees across the site.
• Lead recruitment for the site and manage onboarding and offboarding.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
• Monitor HR metrics and produce reports for senior stakeholders.

HR Advisor

£35,000 - £40,000 + £500 annual bonus | 32 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) | Excellent benefits

We are working with a successful and growing international manufacturing business to recruit an HR Advisor to join their team at their site in Weston. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of a broad HR remit within a supportive and people-focused organisation.

The Role

This is a standalone HR position, supported by a Gloucester-based HR Business Partner who is on site one day per week, together with a wider HR team based in Ireland. You will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across the site, providing practical HR advice and helping to drive a positive employee experience.

• Providing advice and guidance on employee relations, performance management, talent development and organisational design
• Leading all aspects of recruitment for the site
• Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, induction, career development and offboarding
• Driving employee engagement, retention and recognition initiatives
• Implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures
• Advising managers on attendance, capability, disciplinary and grievance matters
• Ensuring HR processes are managed in line with employment legislation and best practice
• Supporting the delivery and monitoring of HR metrics and reporting
• Ensuring HR documentation and employee records are accurate and up to date
• Leading and supporting HR projects and wider organisational initiatives
• Working closely with the wider HR team and senior stakeholders across the business

About You

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who is confident providing advice to managers and working across a broad generalist HR remit.

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience
• Previous experience working at HR Advisor level
• Strong employee relations experience and a good understanding of UK employment legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuinely people-focused approach
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience producing and working with HR reports and metrics
• A proactive and practical approach to HR
• Flexibility to travel occasionally to other sites
