Job summary

A growing pet care and travel marketplace is looking for an HR Advisor to support their People & Talent function. The ideal candidate will have experience in employee relations and HR advisory work, coupled with solid knowledge of employment law. This role offers a collaborative work environment where you can make a real impact on team culture and processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a HR advisory role, preferably in a scale-up or fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable leading or supporting disciplinary and grievance investigations.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and best HR practices.

The Role

We’re looking for a confident and capable HR Advisor to support our growing team and evolving People & Talent function at TrustedHousesitters.

Reporting to the Senior People Partner, you’ll act as a trusted first point of contact for line managers and employees on day-to-day HR matters, while helping us build and maintain a people experience that reflects our values and supports our long-term goals.

This is a great opportunity for someone with existing experience in employee relations and generalist HR advisory work who is looking to build their business partnering skills in a purpose-led scale-up environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Employee Relations: Act as a first-line advisor to managers on ER queries including policy interpretation, investigation processes, and outcomes. Lead on non-complex disciplinary and grievance cases and support the Senior People Partner on more complex ER casework
  • Policy & Process: Draft, update and maintain internal HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, clarity and accessibility. (We use Notion to host our policies!)
  • Team Support: Provide timely, consistent guidance on employee requests such as flexible working, reasonable adjustments and other day-to-day policy matters
  • HR Projects & Partnering: Provide support to the Senior People Partner on people initiatives and process improvements across the employee lifecycle
  • Collaboration: Work with People Operations and the People Experience team to offer HR insights, support cross-functional projects and promote best practice
  • Reporting: Produce regular reports and checks such as quarterly absence data and holiday balances, using HRIS (we currently use Zelt) and Google Sheets
  • General Administration: Support with essential HR admin tasks including document management, template updates, and internal comms


What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a HR advisory role, preferably in a scale-up or fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable leading or supporting on disciplinary and grievance investigations
  • Solid knowledge of employment law, HR policy and best practice
  • Confident in providing advice and 1st-line support to managers and team members across all levels
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills
  • Able to balance pragmatism with empathy and a strong sense of fairnessCIPD Level 3 or 5 qualified (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Experience using HRIS platforms and Google Workspace is a plus
