Job summary

Diocese Of Southwell And Nottingham Multi Academy Trust is seeking an HR Advisor to advise leaders on HR policies, manage complex cases, and oversee sickness absence management across our academy network. The role requires proactive case handling and strong stakeholder engagement.

The position sits in a growing HR & Payroll Team with a hybrid working arrangement, permanent contract, and a September or earlier start date. A focus on professional development in Education HR is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience advising managers and senior leaders on HR issues.
• Experience managing own caseload end-to-end.
• Willing to attend onsite visits.
• Strong communication and adaptability to different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Lead strategic and proactive case management of sickness absence and other employee relations cases.
• Support leaders across partner academies with complex HR matters and casework.
• Collaborate with the HR & Payroll Team to ensure consistent guidance and records.

HR Advisor

Hay Band A (£34,434 - £39,152)

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours all year round (term time only will be considered)

Location: Jubilee House, Southwell, Nottinghamshire (A hybrid working arrangement is in place)

Starting date - September or earlier.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join SNMAT’s growing HR & Payroll Team, providing support to our 24 partner academies. As an HR Advisor, you will deliver professional advice and guidance to leaders on policies and procedures, complex casework and other HR related matters. You will be responsible for the strategic and proactive case management of long- and short-term sickness absences and advising on a range of other employee relation cases.

• Has experience of providing advice to managers and senior leaders on a range of HR issues.
• Has experience of managing their own case load, from end to end.
• Willing to attend onsite visits.
• Demonstrates an aptitude to think creatively and flexibly to resolve issues.
• Is confident, knowledgeable and able to adapt their style to a range of different audiences.
• Wishes to develop their skills and knowledge further and is committed to their own continuous improvement.
• Works well in a team and can make a positive contribution.
• Although it would be useful, it is not essential that you have experience in the field of Education, as training will be provided. What is important is that you have HR advisory skills, resilience, and a positive outlook in this fast paced and challenging environment.
