Job description

Are you a proactive and people-focused HR professional looking for your next challenge? We're looking for a HR Advisor to join our global manufacturing client at their Poole office. You will play a key role in delivering efficient and effective HR services across the business.

Based on site salary circa £35k

About the Role

As an HR Advisor, you'll be a key point of contact for day-to-day HR operational issues, supporting managers and employees with expert advice and guidance. You'll work closely with the HR Team Leader and HR Manager to support the company's objectives, ensuring fairness, compliance, and efficiency in all HR processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preparing and issuing HR documentation, including contracts and employee communications
  2. Supporting recruitment efforts - sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the onboarding process
  3. Assisting with temporary staffing needs and liaising with agencies and managers
  4. Monitoring and managing absence reports, supporting informal meetings, and leading formal absence reviews
  5. Providing HR advice on key topics, including absence management, disciplinary matters, and employee relations
  6. Leading disciplinary and grievance hearings, and coaching managers on best practice
  7. Coordinating Occupational Health referrals
  8. Preparing HR data and reports with insightful analysis
  9. Maintaining HR systems (Workday, Excel)
  10. Supporting training coordination and employee wellbeing initiatives
  11. Keeping up to date with UK employment law and HR best practices, recommending policy updates where necessary
  12. Leading and supporting local HR initiatives and projects
HR Advisor - About you
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR-related qualification)
  • It would be advantageous if you have worked within an international matrix style environment
  • Proven experience in an HR generalist role, covering recruitment, absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, and HR administration
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience delivering projects and driving process improvements
  • (Desirable) HR experience in a manufacturing environment
