Role Overview:

In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated HR team providing support to schools and council services on a full range of people practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work with directorates across the council to be a trusted source of advice on people policies and processes, advising on complex casework including TUPE.
  2. Provide comprehensive advice to managers and leaders on all HR matters in line with council policies and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with Trade Unions to foster a positive culture and deliver good practice.
  4. Act as the first point of contact, providing first-line advice and support on HR matters, in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, and practice.
  5. Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring work is organized, prioritized, and well-delivered.
  6. Support and contribute ideas to the shaping and improvement of the HR/OD Service.
Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need at minimum:

  • Chartered Member CIPD
  • Experience in an HR advisory role
  • Experience guiding managers through TUPE transfer processes
  • Good knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Experience working in a Trade Union environment on employee relations issues
