As an HR Advisor, you will support the hospital with all HR aspects, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues and managers to help them deliver our purpose daily.

You will need to build effective relationships at all levels, managing multiple priorities in a busy, hands-on role where organization and reliability are key.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Driving effective workforce planning through regular discussions with the hospital's Senior Management Team.
  2. Leading onboarding activities for new staff, ensuring comprehensive inductions.
  3. Supporting managers and new starters through probation periods with timely advice and guidance.
  4. Managing HR files and personal information confidentially, in line with GDPR.
  5. Promoting wellbeing initiatives and communication channels within the hospital and Spire.
  6. Managing absence to reduce short-term leave and support long-term absence management.
  7. Being the first point of contact for HR matters, providing consistent, high-quality advice.
  8. Supporting performance management, disciplinary, grievance, and attendance issues, including attending related meetings.
  9. Ensuring timely resolution of employee relations issues, applying diversity, equality, and fairness principles.
  10. Coordinating the appraisal process and supporting regular 1:1 meetings.
  11. Assisting with the annual pay review process to ensure fairness and consistency.
Key Requirements:
  • Level 5 CIPD Qualification or equivalent
  • Experience as a HR Advisor or similar role
  • Knowledge of HR functions, systems, pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development
  • Understanding of employment laws, disciplinary, and grievance procedures
  • Ability to develop business-focused solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Effective communication skills with influence at all levels
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • High standards of work quality and time management
