Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HR professional in Normanton and Altofts. The candidate will be responsible for employee relations, recruitment, and compliance with employment law. A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, particularly within Food or FMCG sectors, is required. The role offers a salary up to £45,000 and includes 33 days of holiday.

The role

You will join an incredibly supportive business who deliver a comprehensive and business-focused HR service, which includes recruitment, retention, and L&D whilst supporting the management team with a range of employee issues.

Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations – Provide advice and support on disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence issues, ensuring compliance with policy and employment law.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding – Manage recruitment processes, support hiring managers, and deliver effective onboarding and induction.
  • Policy & Compliance – Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and align with UK legislation and industry standards.
  • Performance & Development – Support managers with performance management, appraisals, and identifying training needs.
  • Absence Management – Monitor attendance, support return-to-work processes, and liaise with Occupational Health as required.
  • HR Data & Reporting – Maintain accurate HR records, ensure GDPR compliance, and provide HR metrics and analysis.
  • Engagement & Wellbeing – Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Projects & Improvement – Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support business goals.
Candidate Profile
  • CIPD qualified.
  • HR or Business related degree – or equivalent experience.
  • We are looking for a minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role (within Food, Drink or FMCG manufacturing).
  • Be an empathetic individual, confident and be able to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience implementing change, policies and procedures.
  • Good project management experience.
  • Have a good understanding of current employment law.
