A leading hospice is seeking a dedicated individual to manage recruitment and employee relations processes. Responsibilities include overseeing onboarding, advising on HR issues, and ensuring compliance with policies. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and experience in HR, looking to contribute to a supportive environment.
Responsibility for recruitment of paid roles, utilising cost-effective and creative solutions. Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process for paid roles, working closely with the People Services Administrator to ensure all activity is dealt with professionally and in a timely manner. Participate in interviews as required.
Proactively involve in the induction of new starters, including employees and volunteers, such as meet & greets and onboarding processes. Ensure probationary reviews are completed or extended where appropriate. Collaborate with managers to provide complex advice on employee and volunteer relations issues, including absence management, grievances, and disciplinary matters, in partnership with the Head of People Services. Conduct investigations and hearings as agreed, providing reports of findings.
Attend hearings either as a panel member or by taking minutes, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and procedures. Process contractual variations and maintain accurate records of PERCI and associated spreadsheets for clinical and support services. Provide accurate and timely information for the monthly payroll, including ad-hoc staff claims (e.g., DSE).
Support the Voluntary Services Co-ordinator in providing a proactive volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, ongoing support, and advice to line managers. Champion employee and volunteer engagement initiatives, supporting delivery of action plans with line managers. Ensure all processes are delivered on time and information is current and accurate via the internet and intranet for employees and volunteers, maintaining consistent support and guidance across the organisation.
Under the direction of the Head of People Services, review and update policies to ensure compliance with statutory and CQC/CHKS requirements. Lead departmental audits by attending the Audit Committee and identifying valuable audits to enhance current work streams. Support the development of the People Services Assistant through advice, guidance, and shadowing opportunities. Collaborate on relevant projects as appropriate.
