About the role

As an HR Advisor, you will play a proactive and collaborative role within the People & Culture team, working closely with HR Business Partners, managers, and stakeholders across the business. You will provide accurate, timely, and pragmatic HR advice on a wide range of operational matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and alignment with best practice. Your focus will be on enabling effective people management and supporting the delivery of HR initiatives that contribute to the firm's strategic goals.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to people managers and team members on HR policies and procedures and employment law processes as applicable.
  • Supporting to resolve people and process related issues as informally as possible or ensuring that the formal processes are carried out in line with HR Policy and procedure.
  • Stay informed on employment law developments and HR trends, particularly within the professional services sector, and share insights with the wider team.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, centres of excellence, internal stakeholders and internal networks to review and develop policies and procedures that reflect best practice and meet business needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Assisting with the development and maintaining of people policies and procedures which provide general and practical advice and guidance for people managers and team members on a range of employment issues.
  • Supporting with the management of employee relations cases relating to sickness absence, probation, performance improvement, disciplinary, grievance etc.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health and support the implementation of reasonable adjustments and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyse trends, and provide insights to HR Business Partners and people managers to identify and address any areas of concern. Using the data to inform retention strategies.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex queries from HR Shared Services and provide support on transactional HR matters such as payroll, onboarding, offboarding and other people related matters.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of People & Culture strategies and projects

What we are looking for

  • Good working knowledge of employment law based on a mixture of, academic qualifications, practical experience and demonstrable continuous personal development.
  • Experience of delivering front line advice and guidance on conditions of employment and employee relations issues.
  • Ability to use own initiative to interpret policies, procedures and situations in order to identify solutions/recommendations on a case-by-case basis.
