Macmillan Davies is delighted to be supporting a fantastic organisation with the recruitment of a People Advisor to join an established and collaborative People team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced HR/People Advisor who enjoys being the go-to person for managers, providing practical, commercially focused advice across a broad range of people matters.

You’ll be joining a supportive wider People function, with a People Operations team managing the initial transactional queries, allowing you to focus on providing advice, guidance and coaching to managers.

The role

As People Advisor, you’ll be a key point of contact for managers across the organisation, supporting with a varied range of queries including:

  • Employee relations, particularly sickness absence, occupational health, flexible working and performance management
  • Advising and coaching managers through people issues, ensuring they feel confident managing situations effectively
  • Supporting disciplinary and grievance matters when required
  • Pay queries, salary benchmarking and wider reward-related questions
  • Interpreting and applying HR policies and employment legislation
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider People team to provide a consistent and high-quality service
  • Identifying trends and opportunities to improve the employee and manager experience

Formal disciplinary and grievance caseloads aren't particularly high, but you’ll need a good grounding in ER and employment law and the confidence to advise managers when more complex situations arise.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with previous experience at HR Advisor / People Advisor level who is confident managing their own caseload and building strong relationships with managers.

You’ll need to be approachable, pragmatic and comfortable providing advice across a broad generalist HR remit. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working as part of a genuinely supportive and collaborative People team.

This could also be a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience within a larger People function and gain exposure to a broad range of HR activity.

What's on offer?

You’ll be joining a welcoming People team within an organisation offering a modern, high-spec working environment and a genuinely collaborative culture.

The role is initially offered as a 12-month FTC, with the possibility of becoming permanent longer term, and offers hybrid working along with a list of people focused benefits including 25 days holiday +bank holidays and generous employer pension contribution
