Puig in London is hiring a HR Advisor on a 12-month maternity contract. Based at our London HQ, this hybrid role splits three days in the office and two from home, delivering a high-quality generalist ER service.

You will advise on absence, performance, disciplinary, maternity/paternity leave and flexible working; manage ER cases; support payroll and onboarding, and collaborate with managers to shape people plans and wellbeing initiatives. CIPD qualification preferred.

  • CIPD qualification or working towards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ER advice across absence, dispute resolution, performance, disciplinary, maternity/paternity leave and flexible working.
  • Fully manage ER cases with escalation to Senior HR Business Partner as needed.
  • Coordinate meetings and generate letters/papers in a timely manner.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure consistency of process delivery and employee experience.
  • Maintain ER trackers and GDPR compliant documentation.
  • Design and deliver HR fundamentals training for line managers.
  • Respond to HR inbox queries promptly.
  • Track probation periods and manage underperformance.
  • Support payroll, onboarding and leaving processes with People Services.
  • Assist Talent Acquisition with shortlisting and interviewing; attend fairs/assessment centres.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to reduce turnover.
  • Maintain HR Hub intranet content and ensure policy changes are reflected.
  • Participate in wellbeing initiatives and field activities with retail teams.

Job description

We have an opportunity for a HR Advisor to join us on a 12 month maternity contract. This role provides a high quality generalist service for our team members in the UK, working collaboratively with our managers to support the in the delivery of their people plans with plenty of opportunity for you to make an impact and shape the people experience for the PUIG UK Market.

This role is based in our London HQ and is a hybrid role working three days in the office and two days from home.

What you'll get to do
  • Provide advice across all areas of ER including: absence management, dispute resolution, performance management, disciplinary, mediation, maternity leave, paternity leave, and flexible working
  • Fully manage the ER cases within the client group with the support of the Senior HR Business Partner where needed or as an escalation point for complex cases
  • Be actively involved in coordinating and attending meetings, and ensuring any letters or accompanying paperwork is generated in a timely manner
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure consistency of process delivery and team member experience and to ensure department goals are met
  • Maintain ER knowledge to advise correctly, and complete the ER trackers to ensure the correct internal audit trail
  • Design and deliver HR fundamentals training with for line managers
  • Look after the HR email inbox, responding to queries in a timely manner
  • Track probationary periods and work with managers to ensure that the correct process is followed and underperformers are being effectively managed during their probationary period
  • Manage the e-files and ensuring the correct documentation is saved, up to date and GDPR compliant
  • Work closely with the People Services Team to ensure there are no issues with the monthly payroll, pay and benefits and to facilitate the onboarding and leaving processes
  • Support the Talent Acquisition team with shortlisting and interviewing for roles as required, including attendance at careers fairs and assessment centres
  • Ensure exit interviews are taking place and seek feedback on these in order to spot trends and support with decreasing turnover and increasing engagement
  • Maintain the HR Hub platform (HR local intranet site) ensuring that any changes in polices or process are reflected in the tool, and that the content remains engaging and relevant for our teams
  • Actively participate in Wellbeing initiatives for our teams, supporting general wellbeing across the business
  • Support the wider HR team with any ad-hoc initiatives and projects
  • Spend time out in the field, building relationships with the retail team through store visits
We'd love to meet you if you have
  • Relevant experience in a similar role and industry and, ideally, CIPD qualified or equivalent or working towards a qualification
  • Excellent understanding of HR processes, systems and practice, and experience with employee relations cases and advice
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven planning and organising skills
  • Ability to work and react quickly to a dynamic, fluid environment
  • Ability to influence to maintain consistency of our processes and achieves credibility through delivering great service and challenging where necessary
  • Passionate about wellbeing initiatives including recognition, engagement, celebrating each other, DEIB initiatives and development
  • Awareness of the importance of maintaining integrity through HR processes
