Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join a dynamic team for a maternity cover role based in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic HR function and support key business objectives within a fast-paced environment. The role will involve providing comprehensive HR support across various areas, from recruitment and employee relations to performance management and training. You’ll have the chance to make a direct impact on the business by ensuring that HR policies and procedures are effectively implemented and followed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and advise on HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns from start to finish, including candidate assessments and interviews.
  • Oversee the employee offer and contract process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Organise new employee inductions and support onboarding.
  • Assist in training and development activities, ensuring ROI and alignment with business objectives.
  • Support managers in implementing structural and cultural changes within their teams.
  • Handle employee performance management processes and absence management.
  • Provide guidance and support during disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Analyse HR data to provide business insights and support decision-making.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Essential:
    • CIPD qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience).
    • Previous experience in an HR Advisor role, ideally with a focus on operational HR.
    • Strong understanding of employment law (grievance, absence, discipline, family-friendly, etc.).
    • Ability to build effective relationships with employees at all levels.
    • Strong time management and organisational skills.
    • Ability to analyse and interpret HR data.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in recruitment coordination and process participation.
    • Experience with HRIS systems.
    • Knowledge of employee engagement activities and surveys.
    • Business/commercial awareness.
