About The Role

As a HR Advisor, you will support the Employee Relations Team in ensuring a consistent, fair, and risk-minimized approach to employee relations (ER) across the organization. You will play a key role in promoting a positive ER culture while managing critical HR cases and advising on complex employment matters.


About You

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to managers on all employee relations matters.
  2. Effectively manage casework, including disciplinaries, grievances, employment tribunals, TUPE, redundancies, and absence management.
  3. Draft accurate outcome letters for ER cases, ensuring clear and appropriate communication of decisions.
  4. Build strong working relationships with business units to promote healthy employee relations practices.
  5. Present HR updates at branch and regional meetings as required.
  6. Travel to various branch locations to support ER-related cases.
  7. Monitor trends in employment practices and recommend proactive actions.
  8. Provide expert advice on disciplinary actions, welfare cases, and grievances, including coaching managers where necessary.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant employment law and company policies by staying current with changes in legislation.
  10. Attend seminars and training programs to continually improve knowledge.
  11. Participate in HR-related projects aligned with company strategy.
  12. Support employment tribunal claims and manage “without prejudice” conversations to resolve disputes.
  13. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the line manager.

Essential

Person Specification:

  1. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in Employee Relations.
  2. Must have CIPD level 5 or higher.
  3. Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  4. Experience with employee relations procedures, including employment tribunals, diversity, and equal opportunities.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  6. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  8. Full UK driving license.
  9. Proficiency in IT skills.

Desirable

  1. Experience within a large, multi-site organization.
  2. Experience in a commercially driven business environment.
