About The Role

As HR Advisor, you will provide high-quality HR support, guidance, and advice to line managers on all ER-related matters and train them in the application of HR policies, procedures, and processes. Please note this role is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.

You will support the Senior HR Advisor and HR Services Manager in delivering an exceptional HR advisory service and collaborate with other members of the People Team and across HC-One.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing high-quality HR advice and guidance to facilitate the early resolution of employee relations (ER) issues, managing associated risks effectively.
  • Managing ER cases such as conduct, performance management, grievance/whistleblowing, absence management, and other complex cases from initial contact to resolution, coaching line managers and investigating officers as needed.
  • Escalating complex ER cases to senior team members for continued support.
  • Ensuring advice is timely and within SLA, provided by the appropriate personnel.
  • Identifying and reporting themes and trends from casework and queries to senior management.
  • Providing HR policy and procedure training to line managers.
  • Supporting strategic HR projects across the employee lifecycle.
  • Sharing HR knowledge within the team to ensure consistency and growth.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service, prioritizing colleague experience.
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring proper documentation of all HR cases and queries.
  • Contributing to the review and update of HR policies in line with employment law.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated on employment law, case law, and best practices.
  • Meeting all personal and departmental deadlines.
  • Promoting a professional image of the company at all times.

About You

Qualified to CIPD Level 3 or with at least 3 years' experience managing high volumes of ER cases and committed to completing CIPD qualification. You have a minimum of 2 years' experience handling ER cases confidently and sensitively, with a good understanding of GDPR.

You possess a commercially focused approach, with up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices. You can interpret policies and situations to provide pragmatic solutions. You have excellent communication skills, are detail-oriented, IT literate, and capable of analyzing management information for decision-making.

You understand safeguarding responsibilities and are able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, knowing how to report concerns.
