HR Advisor - Generalist Role with Career Path to HR Business Partner | Coventry (Onsite with Some Flexibility) | £33,000-£35,000 + Benefits

Ready to build your HR career with a company that's transforming its culture and people strategy? Looking to evolve into a true Business Partner while keeping your hands on the full employee lifecycle?

This is an exceptional opportunity for a confident, curious, and committed HR Advisor to join a well-established, UK-based organisation in the midst of cultural and operational evolution.

You'll be stepping into a broad generalist HR role with real visibility, variety, and influence. From employee relations to recruitment, coaching managers to shaping onboarding and internal communications-you'll have a voice, a seat at the table, and the support to grow into a future HR Business Partner.

Why This Opportunity?

  1. Work with an HR team committed to building trust, modernising practices, and championing a people-first mindset.
  2. Be part of a company that is actively investing in its people strategy, values internal mobility, and promotes from within.
  3. Be part of a visible and valued HR function, working primarily onsite at the Coventry head office-with potential for occasional hybrid flexibility (1 day from home) for focused project work. This is a role for someone who thrives in a face-to-face, operational environment.
  4. Get exposure to live ER cases, engagement projects, and recruitment campaigns from day one.
  5. Play a key role in shaping culture, coaching line managers, and improving the employee experience.

Your Role at a Glance

This position offers hands-on responsibility and breadth across the HR lifecycle. You'll report to a Senior HR Business Partner and serve as a trusted advisor to both corporate and operational managers.

Day-to-Day You'll:

  1. Manage ER cases independently-handling absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance and wellbeing cases.
  2. Coordinate and improve recruitment processes-from advertising and screening through to onboarding.
  3. Coach line managers on people practices, policies, and decision-making.
  4. Support internal communications-drafting briefings, engagement bulletins and policy updates.
  5. Analyse HR metrics-including absence trends, recruitment performance, and staff turnover.
  6. Review and enhance HR policies and workflows, with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  7. Contribute to cultural change initiatives, including onboarding enhancements and employee engagement surveys.

What You'll Bring

Must-Have:
  1. CIPD Level 5 or working towards it
  2. 4-5 years' experience in a generalist HR role
  3. Proven track record managing employee relations issues end-to-end
  4. Experience in recruitment coordination or ownership
  5. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  6. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and people policies
  7. Confidence to challenge, influence, and coach at all levels

Nice-to-Have:
  1. Experience with ADP or similar HRIS
  2. Background in operational sectors (e.g., logistics, engineering, manufacturing, or distribution)
  3. Involvement in writing or refining HR policies and internal comms
  4. Familiarity with wellbeing initiatives or culture programmes

You'll be someone who brings emotional intelligence, professionalism, and a solutions-focused approach-balancing structure with warmth and flexibility.

Pay, Perks & Practical Bits

  1. Salary: £33,000-£35,000 per annum
  2. Location: Coventry (primarily onsite, with 1 day per week hybrid flexibility for project work)
