Job description

We are currently looking for a new HR Advisor (internally known as People Advisor) to join our People team. In this role, you will support the People Partners by providing HR advice across Cambridge Education Group, with a focus on their key area of the business. This will involve working closely with managers and team members to provide professional, high-quality customer-focused advice, guidance, and support in relation to HR policies and procedures, employee relations issues, and organizational change.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide first-class HR advice, guidance, and support to line managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, employee relations, and organizational change.
  • Support line managers with employment practices and policy interpretation through coaching, advising, and guiding.
  • Manage global employee relations issues professionally and efficiently, including family leaves, flexible working requests, performance management, absence management, disciplinary, and grievance matters, with support from the People Partners. Assist with recruitment processes.
  • Advise managers on remuneration change requests for their team members in line with pay structures and processes, including supporting pay reviews and bonus processes.
  • Support compliance with UK and international employment laws and regulations, staying current with changes, proactively escalating risks, and helping develop mitigation solutions.
  • Assist in developing and delivering learning and development sessions on people management practices.
  • Ensure absences are recorded, inform and support line managers with absence concerns, conduct return-to-work interviews, and complete occupational health referrals where necessary.
  • Understand business pressures and requirements from the customer’s perspective and actively seek ways to align with commercial needs.

Essential criteria:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (Grade C or above)
  • Experience providing professional, pragmatic HR advice and support on employee relations issues
  • Experience advising managers and team members on HR matters
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving company
  • CIPD accreditation (Desirable)
