The HR Advisor (known internally as a People Advisor) plays a pivotal role in the People Team, helping to deliver best in class support to Simplify. Your role provides an invaluable, efficient and effective HR service delivering high-quality operational support, advice, and guidance, including owning a varied caseload of ER activities, advising and coaching line managers on the interpretation of policy and legislation in the context of their responsibilities when managing their teams, as well as assisting with a variety of challenging, generalist HR work aimed at supporting the business to achieve our organisational objectives through our people.

Key Responsibilities
- To assist the People Partners and Head of People with delivering a proactive professional HR service across the business.
- Act as the first point of contact and owner for all employee relations casework, supporting and upskilling line managers to own the processes and proactive management of their teams.
- Provide a professional advisory and case management service that gives effective solutions to people issues ensuring a balance between the individual and business need.
- Provide support to managers and colleagues on the full colleague lifecycle to include Onboarding, Induction & Probation Management, Employee Wellbeing, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Change Management.
- Work with the business to identify and address management development areas, creating and delivering engaging solutions to upskill our managers.
- Support the People Team in creating, updating and maintaining all relevant documentation and information, including policies, procedures, guidance documents, standard letters and training material.
- Collaborating with other members in the team and business stakeholders, you will support on creating reports for management information and analytics purposes with relevant HR KPI information.
- Working in partnership with People Partners and People Services Team to help resolve or advise upon HR queries and to escalate any complex issues as necessary.
- Support the wider People Team in the delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Provide full support to the admin team during busy periods.
Requirements
And now for the nitty gritty.
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- You will have at least 6 months experience of carrying a constant and varied ER caseload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can build good working relationships.
- Good technical HR knowledge and employment law, with previous experience of process knowledge on policies and practices.
- Excellent team working skills, including the ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Good communication skills with the ability to get your message across clearly.
- Understanding of how to effectively handle, resolve and escalate information and issues.
- Excellent delivery-focussed planning and organising skills.
- You’ll be able to prioritise work effectively to varying deadlines and in a changing environment. You’ll be keen to get stuck into any given task.
- Proficient IT skills - including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint drafting documentation and complex reports.
- Attention to detail and accuracy - ensures facts are correct, complete and consistent.
- Experience of coaching and developing line managers.
- Willing and able to travel to our Leicester Head Office as required, approximately weekly, with travel to other sites as and when required.
- on average we would anticipate that you would attend our Leicester Head Office once a week and other satellite sites if and when required, although this may fluctuate depending on business needs ie, one week you may not need to attend site at all and then the following you may need to attend twice*.
