Job summary

Novoexec is partnering with a growing organisation to appoint an HR Advisor on a fixed term contract through to December 2026 in Birmingham. This is a hands-on generalist HR role, focused on employee relations, recruitment, HR administration and people projects.

You will provide practical HR support to managers and staff, manage employee relations cases, assist with onboarding and offboarding, maintain HR records and participate in training and engagement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in an HR Advisor or generalist HR role.
• Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law.
• Proven employee relations experience managing cases from start to finish.
• Experience coaching and influencing managers at different levels.
• Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate people data.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers across a broad range of people matters.
• Manage employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability and performance management.
• Coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in people management.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and offboarding activities.

• Produce HR documentation, reports and management information.
• Support employee engagement, wellbeing and people-focused initiatives.
• Contribute to training activities and help ensure compliance and development programmes are effectively managed.

Are you an experienced HR Advisor who enjoys building relationships, solving people challenges and making a genuine impact across a business?

We are partnering with a successful and growing organisation to appoint an HR Advisor on a fixed term contract through to December 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on HR professional to join a busy People team and play a key role during an exciting period of growth and change.

This is a varied generalist position requiring strong employee relations expertise, alongside involvement in recruitment, HR administration, people projects, employee engagement and training initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with managers and employees across the organisation, providing practical and commercially focused HR support.

About You

You will ideally have:

• At least 2 to 3 years' experience in an HR Advisor or generalist HR role.
• Strong and up to date knowledge of UK employment law.
• Proven employee relations experience managing cases from start to finish.
• Experience coaching and influencing managers at different levels.
• Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate people data.
• A practical, resilient and solutions focused approach.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
