Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £33,161 - £36,666 (dependent on skills and experience)

HR Advisor – The Role

The Abingdon Foundation is looking to appoint an engaging and experienced HR professional to join our friendly HR team in providing a high quality, professional and visible HR service across the Foundation. The Foundation comprises two schools: Abingdon School and Abingdon Prep School, as well as Abingdon School Enterprises

HR Advisor – Key Responsibilities

  • Administering and advising on contractual, pay and benefits related matters
  • Supporting employee relations processes
  • Proactively working with managers and Heads of Department
  • Advise on and support the administration of a range of other areas including staff sickness and absence, leavers/offboarding and maternity, paternity and shared parental leave

HR Advisor – You

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a generalist HR environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of employment law, keeping up to date with best practice and changes in legislation
  • Experience of interpreting and advising on terms and conditions and HR policies and procedures
  • Experience of working with and advising managers on sickness, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters
  • Experience of writing and reviewing HR policies and procedures
  • Flexible, positive and proactive team-player
  • Excellent communication, administrative and IT skills
