The Role

Bolton Council Schools HR Team is seeking a fully CIPD Level 5 qualified and experienced HR Adviser to join the existing School’s HR Team. This role involves supporting the delivery of our high-quality HR Service Level Agreement to schools across the borough.

You will manage your own portfolio of schools and serve as the first point of contact for Head Teachers, School Business Managers, and Governing Bodies seeking expert HR advice on workforce issues and related terms and conditions.

The role involves advising on a range of HR queries, interpreting and applying relevant legislation, policies, and terms to manage and resolve cases. Responsibilities include handling day-to-day HR issues, complex matters such as school restructuring, TUPE, and safeguarding. You should possess excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with an up-to-date knowledge of HR and employment law.

About You

The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified with extensive HR Adviser experience. You should be self-motivated, professional, personable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with conflicting demands. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with IT systems are essential.

You must be a car user with a full, current, and valid driving licence, a vehicle with a current MOT, and adequate insurance, as the role involves travel within the Bolton area.
