We are looking for a dynamic HR Adviser to join a fantastic HR team providing a respected generalist HR service that enables managers, staff, and clergy across the Diocese to flourish.
You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work here—around 50% of staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins our work. However, all staff share a desire to make a difference.
Position: HR Adviser
Location: Kidlington, Oxford/hybrid
Hours: Part-time, 22 hours per week (0.6 FTE), 3-4 days per week; exact pattern to be mutually agreed
Salary: GBP40,041 pro rata per annum (GBP24,024 actual per annum)
Contract: Permanent

The Role
In this varied and pivotal role, you will offer high-quality guidance and advice in key areas of the employment cycle, reinforcing good employment practices and providing pragmatic solutions. Managing a range of projects and policy development work, you will seek to positively impact diocesan life, exemplifying the values of contemplation, compassion, and courage. You will foster strong relationships across the diocese, with particular importance on supporting clergy and staff wellbeing by partnering with occupational health services. Additionally, understanding the significance of acquiring and retaining the best talent in an inclusive environment is essential.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you enjoy deploying your HR knowledge, skills, and experience gained from working in generalist HR contexts. An excellent communicator, proactive, adaptable, and a confident team player, you are skilled at juggling tasks and priorities. Comfortable with data, HR systems, and Microsoft Office, your detail-oriented and highly organised approach ensures you can effectively get things done.
