Are you a confident administrator with a passion for people? Do you pride yourself in excellent attention to detail and would like to make a first step in your HR career?
UM SMaP (UK) based in Rugeley, Staffordshire (WS15) has a vacancy for a HR Administrator for a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The onsite role will support a busy HR office by providing effective and efficient support to the existing small HR team, handling all aspects of HR administration and queries.
You will work 37.5 hours a week with an early finish of 12:30 pm on Fridays and have flexibility to adjust hours over the month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite support for high footfall in the office, handling general queries.
- Assist with absence management, including calls, notifications, updating systems, and chasing forms.
- Support online time and attendance record keeping.
- Produce documentation and correspondence.
- Assist with contingent worker extensions and reviews.
- Maintain HR filing systems and archive documents.
- Coordinate and execute a project to digitize employee files.
- Support interview scheduling with the Engineering Resource Coordinator.
- Assist with new starter induction sessions.
- Review and interpret policies in line with best practices.
- Respond to policy-related queries from staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in HR or training administration within an SME.
- Minimum GCSE grade A*-C / Level 9-4 in Math and English.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with online time and attendance systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of IFS or Workday platforms is a plus but not essential.
- Proactive, assertive, and able to use initiative.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Committed to confidentiality and professionalism, understanding GDPR requirements.
- Eligible for relevant security vetting.
