Job summary

University of Oxford is seeking a detail-oriented HR professional to join the Department of Paediatrics, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. The role focuses on recruitment, pre-employment processes and daily HR administration, supporting two streams: Recruitment and HR.

This full-time, fixed-term appointment is for three years, with potential for part-time (minimum 30 hours/week). Salary £28,437–£32,108 per annum, with discretionary range up to £34,732.

About the role

The Department is looking to appoint a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and organised professional looking to play an integral part in the operation of our friendly HR team.

You will support recruitment and pre-employment processes and administer routine day-to-day aspects of HR, as well as offer administrative support to other senior HR staff. To deliver a streamlined and efficient service, our HR Team operates in two workstreams, Recruitment and HR. The HR Officers work within a dedicated stream, focusing on either Recruitment or HR, while you will provide support and gain experience across both areas.

This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially three years. Part-time applications may be considered (with a minimum of 30 weekly hours).

About you

You will have GCSE level English and Maths, or equivalent, as well as excellent organisational and administrative skills. You will also have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritise your workload, as well as the ability to produce accurate and detailed work within deadlines. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, to build effecting working relationship with colleagues and to handle confidential information appropriately are also essential for this role.
