Job description

HPC Hardware Support Engineer needed for a Direct Hire opportunity with SOC’s client to work onsite in Aberdeen, MD.

*Candidate must have an active Secret clearance to be considered for this role.

Job Family Definition:

Provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. As a trusted advisor, create and maintain effective customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading-edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge. Contribute to the company’s solutions portfolio by providing technical knowledge and methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions impact technical components of SOC products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainably. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment and may provide team leadership and mentoring.

Secret

Location:

On-site 5 days a week, with standard hours M-F 8am to 5pm. Must be flexible to support off-hours as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Breakfix experience required.
  • Report daily to and work physically at the Customer Site.
  • Meet and maintain customer’s SLA (Service Level Agreement).
  • Engage in technical problem solving across multiple technologies.
  • Own and drive service tickets, including ordering parts for repairs.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Perform daily hardware diagnostics and repairs.
  • Verify and implement technical solutions.
  • Maintain good relationships with team members and customers.
  • Collect data to determine customer needs.
  • Respond to technical information requests.
  • Maintain onsite part inventory.
  • Occasional travel for training required.
  • Security+ and Linux+ certifications required; Linux+ must be obtained if not already held.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and in a team.
  • Extensive Linux hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics experience.
  • Effective communication with customers and SOC teams.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical problems in a multi-technology environment.
  • Confident communication with internal and external senior management.
Education and Experience Required:
  • 4+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; without a degree, 7+ years of relevant experience.
Employment Prerequisites:

Successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis required.
