Job description

HPC Engineer

Cambridge - Hybrid

Inside IR35 Day rate up to £475

Responsibilities:

Working closely with technical leads, technical managers, project managers, and engineering teams across Infrastructure and Engineering teams, you will be a motivator in providing automated project solutions, supporting daily ticket systems for common technical issues, and being core resources for high visibility projects which supply to making our services secure, resilient, and apply the newest technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

What skills, experience, and qualifications will you bring?

  1. Experience 4-8 Yrs.
  2. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  3. Strong set of RedHat skills, preferably RH Certification
  4. Understanding about operations in any public cloud platforms (e.g AWS, GCP or Azure)
  5. Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Automation, Jira, and Confluence experience)

Technical Skills:
  1. Solid grasp on Linux OS fundamentals, solve problems and performance tuning
  2. Good understanding of HPC infrastructure and applications
  3. Exposure to HPC workload management tools like IBM Spectrum LSF
  4. Strong scripting skills (Bash, Shell, Python, Perl, etc.)
  5. Experience with cloud technologies in AWS and/or Google Cloud
  6. Good understanding and experience in infrastructure and application monitoring and alerting tools
  7. Good understanding about remote display and interactive technologies like ETX
  8. Solid skills with Vulnerability Management and security patching of constantly evolving environment
  9. Skills and attitude on automating common repetitive tasks
  10. Relevant experience in a distributed team
  11. Working in a sophisticated, multi-geography, engineering services environment
  12. Providing technical support to engineering user community

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
  1. Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, and/or Continuous Integration (CI) applications
  2. Knowledge on HPC applications
