HP Development Lead - Athletes and Coaches

Cycling New Zealand is on the lookout for a dynamic and strategic leader to take charge of athlete and coach development across our performance pathway.

As the HP Development Lead – Athletes and Coaches, you’ll design and deliver a clear and cohesive pathway to support emerging cycling talent and develop world-class coaches. You'll play a pivotal role in aligning regional and national programmes, leading development coaches, and ensuring our athletes and coaches are ready for high-performance environments.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the athlete and coach development strategy in line with CNZ’s high-performance objectives.

Mentor and develop coaches through education, planning, and individualised support.

Oversee talent identification, training camps, and performance tracking for athletes.

Collaborate with key stakeholders including regional programmes, HPSNZ, and Member Organisations.

Foster a culture of excellence, wellbeing, and ethical sport.

What You’ll Bring:

Proven experience in athlete and/or coach development within high-performance sport.

Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.

Strong understanding of long term athlete development principles and programme delivery.

Experience in cycling (especially track) is preferred, but not essential.

A passion for sport development and growing Kiwi talent on the world stage.
