Job summary

A local council in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Tenancy Sustainment Officer to provide comprehensive support to tenants. The ideal candidate will work closely with tenants, housing teams, and partner agencies to promote independent living and prevent homelessness. Responsibilities include assessment, support planning, and managing a caseload effectively. Prior experience in social housing and excellent communication skills are essential. This is a full-time role with hours from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.00pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working in social housing or a relevant field.
• Experience supporting vulnerable client groups in the community.
• Knowledge of legal processes associated with landlord and tenant relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support and advice to tenants with difficulties sustaining their tenancy.
• Carry out initial assessments and identify support needs.
• Build constructive relationships with tenants.
• Manage own caseload effectively, meeting performance targets.
• Promote the service within the Council and support colleagues.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
