Job summary

RGB is seeking a Surveyor for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract based in Yeovil, covering Somerset, Devon and Dorset with occasional travel. You will investigate property defects, support disrepair cases and work with contractors to improve existing homes for residents' safety, warmth and sustainability.

The role requires building surveying experience, strong problem-solving and a customer‑first approach, with RICS membership advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in building surveying, property maintenance or a similar construction or housing environment.
• Building Surveying studies at HNC/HND level or above.
• RICS membership would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Investigating property defects and identifying practical solutions.
• Supporting complex disrepair cases and housing improvement programmes.
• Working collaboratively with contractors, colleagues and external partners.
• Providing clear advice and support to residents.
• Identifying cost-effective solutions that improve property conditions and customer wellbeing.
