About the Role

We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged individuals. Successful candidates will collaborate with in-house services, including community, clinical, criminal justice, and residential rehabilitation facilities.

The Housing Support Grant (HSG) project assists clients facing homelessness or at risk of losing their tenancy, particularly those in temporary, supported, emergency, or private rented accommodations.

Ideal candidates will be resilient, committed, and possess an understanding of the challenges faced by homeless or insecurely housed individuals.

We work with community teams and external agencies to support clients in maintaining their housing, providing tailored assistance as needed.

If successful, you will need to provide three years of references and undergo an enhanced DBS check where applicable.

  • Experience in outreach, housing/homelessness, health, social care, criminal justice, domestic abuse, or related fields
  • Proven track record working with substance misuse clients
  • Resilience and ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Knowledge of health and safety, assessing high-risk situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IT proficiency
  • Understanding of homelessness assessment, care planning, and key working
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Teamwork skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport (travel across Cornwall required)
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours and occasional Saturdays
