About The Role

Salvation Army Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Worker based at our Pathways service, on a fixed-term contract to 31 December 2025.

The Housing Support Worker will engage creatively with people who are or have recently experienced homelessness to identify and develop their strengths and talents, working with them to develop skills and resources to transform their lives and enable independent living.

At Pathways, we work with adults dealing with mental health issues. Their journey into independence will include 1:1 support, signposting, and supporting open communication with services that can assist in ensuring residents receive the necessary support.

About The Candidate
  • You will have a working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs or experience in another social care setting.
  • You will be a great communicator, capable of building trusting and professional relationships.
  • You will be passionate about making a difference and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will have a high level of resilience.
  • You will empower people to develop their skills, strengths, and talents.
  • You will have a good understanding of the wider community resources and organizations available.
  • You will be comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.
  • You will likely have experience in mental health support, education, training, or leading activities.
  • You will need to participate in our shift rota and on-call rota.
