Support Officer
Location: Godalming
Contract Type: Temporary contract (3-6 months)
We are looking to recruit a Support Officer who will carry out the following responsibilities:
- Assist housing officers in preventing homelessness and supporting clients experiencing domestic abuse.
- Help clients find and move into suitable, affordable housing.
- Create and update housing plans based on client needs.
- Support clients in applying for supported housing and guide them through the process.
- Provide follow-up support to help clients maintain their tenancy.
- Ensure eligible clients are registered on the housing register.
- Help clients access benefits, set up utilities, and manage rent payments.
- Offer basic financial advice and signpost to specialist services if needed.
- Monitor clients' well-being and encourage them to seek support when necessary.
- Refer safeguarding concerns to the appropriate agencies.
- Conduct home visits to check on clients and identify any issues.
- Keep accurate records of client interactions and progress.
- Track and report on caseload statistics.
On average, the Support Officer will be expected to carry out approximately 2-3 home visits per week.
The job role will be 50% admin based, 30% client interaction, and 20% stats reporting.
