Job description

To ensure high-quality support is provided to individuals with diverse needs, you will offer assistance with daily living and promote independence where possible. This role requires close collaboration with external agencies and colleagues. You must adhere to MYSHON policies and procedures while performing your duties.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with individuals to identify needs and support their management.
  2. Assist with daily living tasks such as medication prompting, budgeting, attending appointments, and engaging with external support services.
  3. Monitor and promote safeguarding practices, following whistleblowing procedures to raise concerns.
  4. Listen to and address issues promptly, liaising with the housing manager as needed.
  5. Coordinate with external professionals regarding tenants' changing needs.
  6. Inspect property areas to arrange repairs, decorations, and ensure readiness for new tenants, promoting safe and clean communal and private spaces.
  7. Conduct health and safety checks in accordance with policies and report issues.
  8. Participate in team meetings, initiatives, and service improvement activities.
  9. Work in a person-centred manner, prioritizing individuals' needs.
  10. Ensure work practices comply with health & safety regulations and the company's equality and diversity policies.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards (GDPR).
  12. Collaborate with the housing manager to advise and support tenants on issues like neighbour disputes, harassment, and security, liaising with third parties such as police or social services when appropriate.
  13. Complete relevant documentation to support tenants' needs, reporting daily to monitor progress.
  14. Participate in relevant training to enhance skills and meet individual needs.
  15. Monitor property security and report concerns.
  16. Maintain a professional approach at all times.
  17. Perform additional tasks as requested by your manager that align with the job's scope.
  18. Adhere strictly to MYSHON policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least one year of professional experience in finance or accounts.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software; experience with Microsoft Navision is advantageous but not essential.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to build trust-based relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, adaptable to various situations.
  • Resilience and capability to liaise with utility suppliers and councils.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Home Care experience: minimum 1 year.
  • Experience working with Vulnerable Adults: minimum 1 year.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Good communication skills—verbal, written, and listening.
  • Competence in using Outlook, Word, and Excel.
