Housing Support Officer

£17.31 LTD / £14.76 PAYE (inc hol)

A housing association in Preston is recruiting for a Housing Support Officer to provide housing-focused support to their tenants who are transitioning from supported housing tenancies to independent living tenancies.


THE ROLE

As a Housing Support Officer, you will provide essential support to residents moving from supported housing to general needs accommodation. Your role will focus on tenancy management, wellbeing support, and empowering individuals towards independent living.

  1. Manage a caseload of tenants, providing person-centred support
  2. Assist with finalising tenancy paperwork and ensuring tenants are prepared for transition
  3. Help tenants develop independent living skills and recognise their strengths and aspirations
  4. Support tenants with rent, repairs, benefits, and anti-social behaviour concerns
  5. Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to provide holistic support
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes in line with GDPR
  7. Identify and report safeguarding concerns following relevant procedures

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals in a housing or homelessness setting.

  1. Experience working with vulnerable adults, children, or those affected by homelessness
  2. Strong understanding of tenancy management, rent issues, and anti-social behaviour support
  3. Knowledge of safeguarding and the welfare of vulnerable adults
  4. Strong administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies

THE CONTRACT
  1. 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday
  2. 3 Month Contract, Temp to Perm
  3. The pay for the role is £17.31 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £14.76 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
