An excellent opportunity has become available for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Officer to join a Housing Association’s Supported Accommodation Service in Oxford, helping vulnerable individuals to maintain their tenancies and live independently.

THE ROLE
As a Housing Support Officer, you will provide tailored, person-centred support to individuals living in supported housing, promoting independence, stability, and tenancy sustainment.

  • Assess incoming referrals and engage new clients using a person-centred approach
  • Create and review Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments regularly
  • Liaise with health professionals, external agencies, and colleagues to provide coordinated support
  • Attend safeguarding meetings and escalate any concerns following correct procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation
  • Inform clients of their rights, responsibilities, and financial obligations under their tenancy
  • Actively engage in reflective practice and continuous professional development

  • THE CANDIDATE
    We are looking for someone with prior experience in a similar role, ideally within supported housing or homelessness services, with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs such as substance misuse, trauma, or mental health issues
  • Proven ability to engage and motivate vulnerable client groups
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices
  • Strong communication and partnership working skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and independently

  • THE CONTRACT
  • 36 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (some flexibility required)
  • Permanent Contract
  • £25,000.00 to £27,500.00 per year, plus benefits
