Housing Supply Officer

You will be working with the market to improve the supply of TA and PRS Housing to fulfill the LA homelessness duties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Negotiating with managing agents and landlords to procure and renew various forms of leased temporary and settled accommodation, to meet the needs of homeless clients to whom the Council has a statutory responsibility.
2. Monitoring, maintaining, and carrying out all duties and responsibilities to achieve the target levels of procurement within timescales.
3. Negotiating with managing agents, landlords, and tenants to procure and allocate suitable private rented accommodation as a homeless prevention measure, or as a means of discharging duty for clients in temporary accommodation.
4. Ensuring all acquisition and housing data is accurately recorded on notes and IT systems.
5. Acting as a first point of contact and offering advice when dealing with landlord, managing agent, and tenant inquiries and complaints arising from your daily activities and communication channels.
6. Carrying out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures.

Requirements:

• A sound knowledge of current legislation related to the acquisition and leasing of property used as TA and PRS Housing.
• Knowledge of Housing Law (Landlord & Tenant).
• Demonstrating effective use of time and resources to meet challenging targets and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use initiative to prioritize a heavy workload with several work streams independently.
• Experience of working with multiple parties to achieve successful outcomes.
