Job summary

Osborne Richardson is assisting a client in East London to recruit an experienced PSH – Compliance Enforcement Officer for the Private Sector Housing team within the Selective Licensing Scheme. This is an enforcement-led, full-time contract initially for three months, with a strong likelihood of extension.

The role involves inspecting private rented homes, issuing civil penalties and enforcement notices, and preparing cases for prosecution.

Qualifications

• Experience enforcing private housing standards within a Local Authority.
• Ability to issue notices, penalties, and prepare cases for prosecution.
• Excellent report-writing and IT skills; driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect private rented homes to identify non-compliance.
• Issue civil penalties and enforcement notices under licensing schemes.
• Prepare case files for prosecution and liaise with landlords, tenants, and stakeholders.
• Operate Civica systems and manage risks in private rented sector.
