The Role:
As Triage Officer you will respond to a wide range of queries from all kinds of people, relating to the risk of homelessness. You will play a frontline role in helping us to provide housing solutions.
You will find yourself working on clients’ behalf on the day when they may become homeless. For example, you might be negotiating with private landlords who want to evict tenants. You will also need to respond to, and address, repeat queries to the service, as well as making sure that customers receive scheduled appointments with case officers to discuss their application for help.
From providing advice, to drafting decision letters, to inputting customer data, you will take a highly organised approach. You will also take care to provide a friendly, customer focused service, with the aim of responding rapidly and solving problems at the first point of contact.

About You:
To join us you will need to demonstrate knowledge of relevant Lettings, Homelessness and Housing Act legislation including security of tenure and private tenants’ rights. Ideally, you will also have an understanding of the services, benefits and support available to people who experience housing problems. Experience of providing an advice service to the public would also be an advantage. You will certainly be a team player with the ability to listen and stand up for others.
