Job description

Role: Housing Solutions Officer
Location: Manchester City Council
Pay Rate: £16.89 per hour

We are looking for candidates with part 7 knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, proven proficiency in drafting s.184 decision letters, and the ability to work under pressure with multiple demands. Candidates should have excellent knowledge of homelessness, experience in working to prevent it, and a good understanding of safeguarding and vulnerable citizens.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Establish and maintain relationships with service users to challenge existing patterns of behaviour.
  2. Work proactively with stakeholders to assess individual needs and ensure positive outcomes.
  3. Provide support and advice to service users, facilitating engagement with local and national services.
  4. Monitor, evaluate, and review assessments, making necessary adjustments to help service users achieve their goals.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop plans that address service users' needs and reduce vulnerabilities.
  6. Promote service strategies across the organization and with statutory and voluntary agencies.
  7. Work closely with partner agencies to support independence and opportunities for vulnerable residents.
  8. Maintain accurate records and systems to support data collection and performance management.
  9. Potentially undertake management duties, including team management or matrix management of virtual teams.
  10. Commit to continuous personal development and service improvement.
  11. Ensure diversity is valued, promoting equal access and treatment in employment, service delivery, and communication.
