Housing Solutions Officer

  • Annual Salary: GBP15.48 per hour
  • Location: Sheffield S4
  • Job Type: Temporary Contract, Full-time, Hybrid

We are seeking a Housing Solutions Officer to join our Ukraine Resettlement Team in Sheffield. This role is crucial in supporting Ukrainian refugees and their hosts, helping families rebuild their lives and integrate into the Sheffield community. If you are passionate about making a difference and possess strong communication skills, this is an excellent opportunity for you.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct interviews with clients, undertake housing need and homelessness assessments within statutory and policy frameworks, and provide ongoing support.
  • Carry out home visits, as well as visits to hospitals and other relevant sites.
  • Work towards preventing homelessness, hospital admissions, and delayed discharges from various supported and institutional accommodations.
  • Collect and process information for applications from a variety of sources.
  • Progress cases from application to final outcome and evaluation, including the administration of reviews and collection of additional required information.
  • Provide information on all available housing, support, and other related services.
  • Make decisions within legal and policy frameworks to provide positive outcomes for clients using a full range of options and empowering where possible.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the housing needs of vulnerable people.
  • Commitment to respecting and maintaining customer confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of housing legislation and other laws relevant to housing advice and homelessness.
